Quote for ESS Project – Serious Questions

Is this an email or a “telegram?” It would be really great if such large projects can be processed as telegrams. Our answer would be “Hi Gregorij, transfer today by bank USD 3,000,000 and come tomorrow to pick up the cells. Everything ready. Yours truly, GWL/export.”

Question 1) — What are you looking for? “ESS project” is a very broad word. Are you targeting for single cells? For cell modules? For battery blocks? For battery modules? For modules with management electronics? Or for a complete “turn-key” solution?

Solution 1): We will be happy to follow with the answer when you provide your drawing plan or design scheme for your project. We cannot make miracles by email.

Question 2) — What is the actual configuration and specification?  What are the system parameters?

Solution 2): We will be happy to follow with the answer after you send us a detailed technical description of your ESS project. The best way is by means of the “Technical Specification Document”. Please contact us for more details.

Question 3) — Where will be the project realized? (Location?)

Solution 3) The actual location will determine the costs of the project and the feasibility. There is a difference if the project is realized within civilized EU, or somewhere in the outside world like the bushes of Australia.  The handling and shipping costs are a significant part of the quote for the ESS. Also there needs to be a support team available locally to work for the operation and the maintenance of the ESS.

Question 4) — Who will be assembling the project? What is their experience and what is the potential of their future operation?

Solution 4) The ESS consists of a combination of components integrated into a solution. This solution may be installed in a container (containerized ESS) or may be integrated into building or another place of installation. Anyway, there must always we some installer and integrator company to realize the ESS project. We will be happy to help you to work effectively, to see what are the real experiences of the ESS installer company. Please provide your reference for the installer company.

Question 5) — What the maintenance scheme for the project?

Solution 5) The lithium cells are not potatoes. After potatoes are delivered, they are usually cooked, eaten and they “disappear”. The lithium cells and batteries will last for 10, 20 years during their operation cycle. Additionally, they can be reused for a second-life cycle and keep serving for another 10 to 20 years.  Who and how will perform the maintenance of the ESS to keep the optimal performance and guarantee the flawless operation? What is the sustainability management project for the ESS?

Additionally, to focus on really serious projects, we may request customers to pay a USD1,000 deposit prior to opening the consultation of the ESS storage project. Please expect several weeks of time needed to be spent on the communication to get the reply.
