Support information for the EVSE kit 1.1

What is the “Current boost” function? (Prog pin 4)

Please check the page 4 of user manual and see the table at the bottom of page for details on how you can set the maximum current. By default the maximum current is 32A. The current boost function can increase the limit of the maximal current. If your EV’s internal charger supports more than 32A rating AND all other components of your EVSE project (socket, wires, connectors, fuses, …) support this higher current rating, you can use PIN4 to rise the output power signal of the EVSE kit.

The current limit pin (Prog pin 5) does not have any 6A setting as it seems. How can the 6A current limit be achieved?

Please check page 6 of user manual and see the information: “If you do not connect any Rpp, the current will be limited to only 6A”. When not using any PP resistor, the current will be limited to 6Amp.

How is the current limit based on the external hall sensor activated? Just by connecting the sensor?

This function will be supported by future versions of EVSE kit. Current firmware does not support external hall sensor connection.

Note: in order to avoid repeated support questions, please read the user manual  and all other available support articles and the project web pages. Please study carefully before asking the questions.

In case of specific project where modification and special setting of the EVSE kit 1.1 might be necessary, please contact the GWL Tech Support team.
