FAQ: Avoid overflows of energy to the Grid

Question: In my house I have only 100W of minimal consumption, when I connect the GridFree set with a 260Wp panel and 250W microinverter what will happen with the energy flowing from the inverter?

Answer: The 260Wp panel and the 250W microinverter is capable to produce up to 250 Watt of energy, during the peak of sunshine. If your consumption is only 100W, and the production is 250W, the result is about 150W of overflow of the energy that will go back to the Grid.

For a correct GridFree installation you should always self-consume all of the energy you produce

WARNING: We discourage to feed the overflowing energy to the grid.

In some countries it is illegal to feed the energy to the Grid without a written approval of the grid operator. Additionally with most modern meters, the energy flowing to the grid will be billed to you as consumption, so you will actually pay for the energy you feed to the Grid.  the explanation of such configuration.

Another solution is connecting additional load to use all of the „free“ energy and not send it to the grid.  For example, some customers have installed additional heating or ventilation in their house or in the cellar or their house. When there is a full sunshine and a low consumption of the energy, they turn on the ventilation and the heating and thus using all of the energy without feeding to the Grid.
