In our understating a Black-Box is a product or an equipment that is sold “as it is”, as a closed and sealed box. The user has no access to the internal components of the solution, has no documentation and needs to rely fully on the services of the supplier.
On the other hand the GWL/Modular concept brings a solution that is based on openly described and interchangeable components. If needed, the user can change, service, replace, upgrade, or enhance the components directly. The whole solution is being improved by the user feedback and experience. The modular solution is fully open. It is similar to the idea of the open-source software.
