Complete delivery of a battery pack to Yukon (or Kamchatka)

Question:   We have a project for an electric vehicle that will be located “somewhere” (in the middle of nowhere – like Yukon or Kamchatka). We wish to order a complete battery pack to install in the vehicle with no additional need for installation labor and service locally. We hope   to get a “turnkey solution”   from you. How can you help us?

Answer:   Thank you for your demand, however we think that your idea and the concept of is not reasonable and workable. GWL is supplying individual cells and components. These components must be assembled by skilled electricians or engineers to make the final product. That is why you need to co-operate with local professionals to make the installation.   It is not reasonable to expect a “turnkey solution”, especially if you are in a remote location in the world.

Let us compare it with an operation of a vehicle. You can buy a complete vehicle (let us say a truck from Mercedes-Benz manufactured in Germany). However, in order to operate this truck in a remote area, you need to have a local service team who can assist you in case of repair, defect or for the periodic warranty checkups etc. You will not expect that, when your truck has a problem, you will transport it back to the factory to repair it. Also you cannot assume that the engineers from the factory will travel to your remote location to fix the truck. You, as a customer, need to make sure you have a local service partner or the sufficient know-how to operate the truck in the remote location. In case there is no official service partner in the remote area, you need to train your employees or some other professionals to be able to operate and maintain the truck in this location. You need to arrange for this before you make the purchase.

This is the same is with the battery pack from GWL. We can supply you a solution, but you need to make sure you have   a team of skilled electricians or engineers to make the final assembly and installation of the pack. They will also keep assisting you with the maintenance, warranty checkups and possible repairs if there is any defect or malfunction.

Also, in addition to the pack alone, there are   many additional components that need to be selected properly for the battery pack solution to be working properly and continually. They include: the BMS system, the charger/chargers, fusing, cabling and connectors. All these need to be selected and delivered as a part of a complete solution. You need to review all of this when making your project.
