FAQ: The BMS123 – showing the “L” indicator

In ordinary operation the “L” indicator on the BMS123 software control screen serves to indicate the low voltage status of the battery or low temperature of the battery. This means that the BMS123 software will show red “L” warning anytime when VOLTAGE OR TEMPERATURE are BELOW pre-set values. For correct operation of the BMS please first double check the correct settings in the dashboard/setting screen of the BMS123 software.

Also in case of an error in the communication between the BMS Main Controller and the cell modules (usually due to some electric noise), the BMS software may report the minimum possible values. This is the reason why “L” indicator is on. In such situation check the wiring of the BMS123 modules. Check the support here.  If BMS123 communication is working properly, GREEN LEDS AT CELL MODULES AND INSIDE MAIN CONTROLLER UNIT MUST BLINK IN THE SAME SEQUENCE. If they are not blinking in a sequence, or there is a time delay, please check your connection for the BMS and the modules.
