The GridFree: Why do you call the GridFree the “Grid-free”?  Is it off-grid or what?

Technically speaking there are only two possibilities of using the energy from the solar installation:  A) The grid-tied installation works in harmony with the Grid, feeds the energy to the Grid, must be connected with the Grid and this type of installation usually does not have any batteries. B) The off-grid installation work completely independent from the grid, is not connected with the Grid and must use some batteries to store the energy.

From the technical point of view the GridFree installation is a type of the “grid-tied” installation. However the difference from regular “grid-tied” and the “GridFree” installations is that the grid-tied installation is sending energy to the Grid and usually needs a commercial license of approval from the Grid operator.

The GridFree installation is designed that no energy is going back to the Grid.  The purpose of GridFree is to increase your self-consumption from the solar installation and thus reduce the energy consumption from the Grid. This way you are getting “Free” from the Grid.  Also with the GridFree self-consumption installation, you are “Free” from the obligation to have a commercial license or report your energy to the Grid operator or some other state authority. This way you are “Free” from the State.
