FAQ: I need to use high currents from my DC installation. I have noticed the Tracer BN series are limited to 20 Amp only. How can I use higher currents?

Answer:  The DC output current for the regulator is limited by the internal electronics (Tracer BN series allow max 20 Amp, iTracer series permit max 45 Amp or 60 Amp according to the model specification). If you need to use higher currents (for example with the DC/AC inverters) and you wish to use the protective functions and voltage level setting of the MPPT controller), the best solution is to use the DC contactor  that will be powered form the Tracer series. This way you can use high currents from the battery directly. The wiring is indicated in the diagram above.

Please note that the external display MT-50 is not designed to support this type of installation. The current from the battery going directly to the DC load will not be measured and recorded by the MT-50 display.
