GridFree and the microinverter installation (from 2:51)

In 2013 we have compiled a video explaining the GridFree technology.

The video in the Czech language with the English subtitles.

  • Hello, my name is Rui Rodrigues and I am a technical and marketing director for MicroInverters.

  • Here we are at a commercial installation. It is a fairly large installation and all the panels have the MicroInverters installed.

  • Today in this video we will go over the installation process for the MicroInverter.

  • When you receive your MicroInverters from the supplier, you will receive the package like this. All the cabling is already attached. You do not need any extra cabling.

  • On this side you will have your DC cables that you plug to your PV panel. Here you will have your AC cable which you connect to the previous MicroInverter and this end you will connect to the next one.

  • Here we have a racking system. This one has already holes. If you do not have you should drill some holes. In this case you can install the inverter in two ways down like this or aligned with the panel like this. We have the ready screws so that we can attach the MicroInverter.

  • Now the MicroInverter is securely attached to the rack. You wish to make sure they are fully tight because they will stay here for some 30 years. It’s a long time.

  • Additionally you can get a cabling system like this. You we have additional screws, which we already installed and here you have the open end cable. This will connect the final MicroInverter to the grid or to your eGate gateway. We also have the end cap. The end cap it is to cover the open end of the cable, so that no water enters into the cable. You will plug it like this.

  • If you wish to remove, use just a key, that is not too sharp, and you remove the cap as easy as that.  Here we connect the previous MicroInverter to the one that we just installed.  Plug it in and that’s done. Now we connect the DC cable – plug – plug.   Then we connect to the next MicroInverter.

  • And that’s it. The plug in system of the microinverters is ready for you!
